We signed up for the Cultural Exchange at the Little Red Farm this year. The aim of this exchange is sharing information about the country you reside in with other families in your allocated group so they can get the feel for the culture of that country. This is achieved by sending a package to the family (usually addressed to the child or children) with bits and pieces that you have chosen to give a good overview of what it is like to live there.
Our Parcel includes:
1. South African Flag
2. Fridge magnet note pad
3. South Africa key ring
4. Africa fridge magnet
5. S.Africa Beads Bracelet
6. Animal Beads Key ring
7. Ivory Spoon
8. Rooibos Tea
9. Animal JelliTots
10. South African Coins ~ 5, 10, 20 & 50 Cents 1 & 2 Rand
11. Small South African flags
12. Informative CD which includes information, images & music etc. from our country.
We sent off our parcels representing SA to Australia, Sweden, Florida, USA as well as Maryland, USA today. I had to send them surface mail, because airmail is quite expensive, but they should arrive at their destinations within 6 – 8 weeks.
I trust our recipients will find just as much pleasure in exploring the contents as we’ve had putting it together.
your parcels look great - we are busy preparing ours to send out by the end of May. It is such fun to actually learn and think about what is South African ;-)
ReplyDeleteWell done on your great ideas!
