“I know that it will be impossible to teach them everything that is now known. Knowing this, I have determined that it is much more important to provide an excellent basic education as well as to teach them how to think and find answers. “

is registered with the Department of Education, the IEB as well as provisionally accredited at UMALUSI. They serve as a monitoring & support centre for home-school students from grade K-12. The education of the students remains the responsibility of the parents. They supply the curriculum material & exam papers. At the end of the school year they issue the student with a school report. The primary school material is mostly worksheet based and not at all suitable for a kinaesthetic or visual learner. They’re colourless & very mundane. My son disliked them and was extremely happy when I allowed him to cut them up to add them to his lapbooks. We also found the high school material was not very self study friendly & fulfilling their requirements very strenuous. It is very much a “school at home” scenario that doesn’t work well for my boys or myself
Although, initially this may seem the cheapest option for matric, you have to purchase their material as guideline & after adding additional material & tutor fees to assist with the non-self study friendly material, this may become just as expensive as most of the other curricula available. I would not recommend them due to the many mistakes on the answer sheets as well as utterly poor service & support.

5. Science is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the world. The fields of science are outlined below:
5.1 Natural Sciences is an encompassing term for the branches of natural science and science that study non-living systems, in contrast to the life sciences. However, the term “physical” creates an unintended, somewhat arbitrary distinction, since many branches of physical science also study biological phenomena
-
Physics ~ is the study of the fundamental constituents of the universe, the forces and interactions they exert on one another, and the results produced by these interactions.
-
Atmospheric Science ~ studies the characteristics of different layers of the atmosphere from near ground level to the edge of the space. -
-
Materials Sciences ~ is an interdisciplinary field applying the properties of matter to various areas of science and engineering. It covers the chemistry, physics and engineering applications of materials including metals, ceramics, artificial polymers, and many others.
5.3 Social & Behavioural Sciences (Social Studies) ~ is the “integrated study of the social sciences and humanities to promote civic competence,”. It studies human behavior and societies. -
-
Economics ~ seeks to analyse and describe the production, distribution, and consumption of wealth. -
-
B. Human Geography ~ focuses largely on the built environment and how space is created, viewed and managed by humans as well as the influence humans have on the space they occupy. It studies patterns and processes that shape human interaction with various environments. It encompasses human, political, cultural, social, and economic aspects.Various approaches to the study of human geography have also arisen through time and include:
D. Geomatics ~ involves the use of traditional spatial techniques used in cartography and topography and their application to computers. E. Regional Geography ~ studies the regions of all sizes across the Earth with the main aim of understanding or defining the uniqueness or character of a particular region which consists of natural as well as human elements. Attention is paid also toregionalisation which covers the proper techniques of space delimitation into regions.
-
History ~ is the continuous, systematic narrative and research into past human events as interpreted through historiographical paradigms or theories. -
Law ~ is a system of rules and guidelines, usually enforced through a set of institutions.[5] It shapes politics, economics and society in numerous ways and serves as a social mediator of relations between people. The study of law crosses the boundaries between the social sciences and humanities, depending on one’s view of research into its objectives and effects. Law is not always enforceable, especially in the international relations context. -
Linguistics ~ investigates the cognitive and social aspects of human language. The field is divided into areas that focus on aspects of the linguistic signal, such as syntax (the study of the rules that govern the structure of sentences), semantics (the study of meaning), morphology (the study of the structure of words), phonetics (the study of speech sounds) and phonology(the study of the abstract sound system of a particular language); however, work in areas like evolutionary linguistics (the study of the origins and evolution of language) and psycholinguistics (the study of psychological factors in human language) cut across these divisions. -
Political Science ~ is an academic and research discipline that deals with the theory and practice of politics and the description and analysis of political systems and political behaviour. Fields and subfields of political science include positive political economy, political theory and philosophy, civics and comparative politics, theory of direct democracy, apolitical governance, participatory direct democracy, national systems, cross-national political analysis, political development, international relations, foreign policy, international law, politics, public administration, administrative behaviour, public law, judicial behaviour, and public policy. Political science also studies power in international relations and the theory of Great powers and Superpowers. -

5.5. Behavioural Sciences encompasses all the disciplines that explore the activities of and interactions among organisms in the natural world. It involves the systematic analysis and investigation of human and animalbehaviour through controlled and naturalistic observation, and disciplined scientific experimentation.
5.6. Applied sciences is the application of scientific knowledge transferred into a physical environment. Examples include testing a theoretical model through the use of formal science or solving a practical problem through the use of natural science.Fields of engineering are closely related to applied sciences. Applied science is important fortechnology development. Its use in industrial settings is usually referred to as research and development (R&D).
