Our Reasons for Home Education:
Although he was achieving good results, he wasn't reaching his full potential because his love for learning had been destroyed & hence his grades were steadily declining.
Completely failed by the system, he hated school, was always tired & homework time was a major frustration for both of us. He was severely frustrated & quickly heading to become yet another ADHD statistic.

Bush School @ Mogale’s Gate
Today, I joined my boys on their field trip to Mogale’s Gate where they were scheduled for an ecological study. A huge thank you to Nola for organising this trip and thank you also to Allistair for the time & effort he put into making this a very enjoyable field trip. My boys thoroughly enjoyed it & from what I saw all the other kids did too.
We started the study with a game drive around the farm. There were regular intervals where we stopped and received some more information.
Interesting facts: Bluewildebeest is greyish colour with a black tail & a Blackwildebeest is dark brownish colour with a white tail.
After the game drive we had a lunch break with picnic & getting to know each other a little more. Then the kids had “bush school” where they identified animal skins as well as horns. The kids really enjoyed being involved with assisting Alistair here… I was quite surprised at Misha’s eagerness to assist. It seems his self-confidence is improving.
At the end of the day, Alistair asked all the kids to draw something they saw during the day. Most had no pen or pencil, but even here Alistair had a plan… he brought glue…
Here the kids are creating images with the glue & whatever they could find & having fun chilling after they finished…
